The Milwaukee Brewers erased a 0-0 tie and the Tampa Bay Rays in the fifth inning of Monday night's World Series Game 3. The Brewers scored eight runs in that single frame, a World Series record for two-out runs. The final score was 10-1, giving Milwaukee a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.

The rally began with a ground ball by Brice Turang that eluded shortstop Taylor Walls. The Brewers followed with seven consecutive two-out hits. They did not hit a home run during the entire rally. The team has outscored the Rays 18-7 in the series while managing only one home run.

Rookie left-hander Robert Gasser pitched six shutout innings. He allowed one hit and faced the minimum number of batters. This marks the first time a left-hander has faced the minimum in at least six innings of a World Series game since Sandy Koufax in 1965. Gasser's postseason ERA stands at 0.60 over 15 innings.

Jackson Chourio recorded four hits in the game. William Contreras added three hits, bringing his postseason total to 18. That total is the highest in Milwaukee playoff history. Brandon Woodruff entered in the ninth inning and retired the final three batters to secure the win.

Woodruff, 33, made his first appearance since a shoulder injury sustained on July 4. He has been the longest-tenured player on the roster. The team manager, Pat Murphy, emphasized that the series is not over despite the three-game lead. He noted that the Rays remain a capable opponent in a seven-game format.

The Brewers have won 103 games this season, the most in Major League Baseball. They entered the playoffs with a 10-1 record. The team relies on contact hitting and consistent execution rather than power. Hitting coach Dan Vogelbach described the players as fighters who never stop competing regardless of the score.

Tampa Bay fans filled the Tropicana Field, though a large group of Milwaukee supporters created a loud atmosphere. Rays third baseman Junior Caminero stated through an interpreter that his team is giving its best effort but that the Brewers are playing better. The Rays have not hosted a World Series game since 2008.

If Milwaukee wins Tuesday night, it will become the first team to sweep both the League Championship Series and the World Series since the LCS switched to a seven-game format in 1985. In the 121 World Series prior to this one, every team that took a 3-0 lead won the championship. Twenty-one of those series ended in a sweep.
